What does it mean to get your first camera? For me, it meant freedom to create and document. It was the tool that allowed me to view and reinterpret the world around me in new and challenging ways. Every person has a connection with their first camera. That object becomes a part of their history and influences the way they see the world. That connection changed with the rise of high-quality cameras in every phone, but I believe it's still important to remember the camera’s physicality and the impact it has on people's lives. It impacted my life and that's why I chose to immortalize the object by casting my father's 1958 Canon V1-T in resin.

My father gave me his 1958 Canon V1-T years ago. He carried this camera all over the world. The mold of this camera captures the wear and tear the camera experienced. There are scuffs, inscribed serial #s, and various little marks from a camera life well lived. The cast resin sculpture shows these details and celebrates them.

Each camera comes with a microfiber cleaning cloth and care instructions. Please keep out of direct sunlight for extended periods. ArtResin is used to provide top-of-the-line UV protection. To prolong the resin's clear finish do not leave it in direct sunlight for extended periods.
